Bahrain

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12509658

1. The mostly Shia protesters want to overthrow the Sunni royal family because they feel like they are being repressed. The protesters are assembling peacefully in large groups on the streets. The Bahrain Government is restricting the internet in response to the protests. While walking the streets, harmless protesters have been shot at and exposed to tear gas. The United States would never use violence on protesters who are peacefully assembling. I expect to see the overthrow of the royal family and a constitutional monarchy form.

  1. I think it's absolutely horrible what the Bahrain governemnt is doing tot he innocent protesters when all they want is for their voices to be heard. I'm really glad that I know that our government wouldn't do something like that.

  2. It really doesn't seem fair that Bahrain's government is acting so cruel to their citizens. If the protesters are gathering peacefully and not causing danger, they should be able to speak their mind. I believe that everyone should have the freedom of speech.

  3. I couldn't imagine what it would be like for protestors who have enough courage to stand up for what they believe in, but, to the government, their voice doesn't mean anything; the governemnt will just put a stop to it.

  4. As stated by everyone before me, these actions of the government are both unjust and unfair. In my opinion everyone should be entitled to freedom of speech, and if demonstrating peacefully and not causing any threat or danger to anyone then they are fine.
